Great reasons to have a last minute break in York

It may be January and all a bit “meh…” after the festive season but we still have some great reasons to visit our wonderful city.

If you are a dinosaur fan why not head over to the Yorkshire Museum and check out Yorkshire’s Jurassic World, this exhibition is only around until the 22nd January but there is lots to see and do in this fabulous museum set in the picturesque Museum Gardens.

There are some great productions at York’s Grand Opera House and York Theatre Royal including Abigail’s Party at the Opera House and the very last chance to see iconic Berwick Kaler on stage in the Grand Old Duke of York.

York Resident’s Festival will take over the city on 26th and 27th January. Why not visit friends and family who live here and enjoy all that the festival has to offer together.

And of course the January sales are still going strong, why not head on over to York’s Designer Outlet and pick up high brand names at small prices. Monk’s Cross Retail Park and the Vangard Shopping Park has some great shops to try or leave the car or park and ride behind and simply wander round some of the wonderful shops that York City Centre has to offer.
